The partners

The two partners. Both on your engagement.

Feyzullah Omerbeyoglu leads the technology and Bilge Unlu Omerbeyoglu leads the legal work. Whoever you meet in the first call is whoever answers for the engagement, and the strategy decisions are made by both of them together.

Feyzullah Omerbeyoglu

Partner, Technology

Senior IT project manager and technology consultant. Also Sr. IT Project Manager, PMO at Repzone, Inc.

Feyzullah's background is FMCG, retail and e-commerce: product strategy, end-to-end sales technology operations and cross-functional teams. Sales force automation, B2B software and architectures, relational database systems, and the reporting and analysis layer that sits on top of them. That is where most of the firm's commercial work still comes from.

He works full stack rather than handing a specification over a wall, which is why scope, sequencing and the decision record are his responsibility as much as the code. The same practice now extends to real-time and geospatial systems and to assurance work, where correctness is measured rather than asserted and somebody will eventually audit the result.

Bilge Unlu Omerbeyoglu

Partner, Legal

Qualified lawyer. Technology contracts, commercial agreements and data protection under UK GDPR, EU GDPR and KVKK.

Bilge leads the legal side of every engagement. Her work covers the contracts that govern a technology stack, the commercial agreements around it, and the data protection position underneath both, across the UK, EU and Turkish regimes, which do not always agree with each other.

The distinctive part is where she sits. She reviews contracts having read the architecture, and reviews the architecture knowing what the contract promised. That is how a service level stops being agreed in the abstract, how ownership of what a supplier builds is settled before signature, and how a data flow gets caught before it reaches a country nobody has papered.

Qualification

  • Qualified lawyer Admitted to practise in Turkey
  • Data protection UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, EU GDPR, and Turkish KVKK, including cross-border transfers between the three

Works on

  • IT, SaaS and supplier contracts, drafting and review
  • Commercial agreements, licensing and terms of business
  • Intellectual property and ownership of what suppliers build
  • Data protection compliance, records of processing and DPIAs
  • International transfer mechanisms and processor terms
  • Authorisation and audit trail requirements, set with the engineer
  • Regulatory readiness, legal risk assessment and incident response
  • The legal side of strategy: whether a plan is lawful to execute, and what a deal is really buying

Both addresses reach both of us in the end, so there is no wrong choice. But if you would rather start with the right person, this is how the work divides on a normal week.

Working together

What the pairing changes

Plenty of firms will tell you they offer both technology and legal services. Usually that means two teams, two engagements and two invoices, with a handover in the middle where the context is lost.

  1. One engagement, one scope

You are not managing a supplier relationship on each side and translating between them. The scope covers both, and so does the fee.

  2. Problems surface before signature

An uptime commitment the architecture cannot meet, or an exit clause that assumes an export the platform cannot produce, gets caught while it is still a draft.

  3. Compliance is designed in

Data flows, retention and transfer mechanisms are settled while the schema is still being written, which is roughly a hundred times cheaper than after go-live.

  4. Strategy checked from both sides

A recommendation to build, buy or acquire gets the engineer's read on whether it works and the lawyer's read on whether it is allowed, before it reaches you. Plans that fail one of the two do not get recommended.

  5. One answer, not two opinions

When the engineering answer and the legal answer conflict, we resolve it between ourselves and bring you a position, with the trade-off written down.
